Commentaire : Intégrer la recherche aux organismes communautaires de lutte contre le cancer : compte-rendu d’une étudiante aux cycles supérieurs sur les composantes affective, comportementale et cognitive
Abstract
La réussite des initiatives de recherche en oncologie psychosociale repose sur la propension des chercheurs à se pencher sur des questions difficiles et sur l’utilisation d’approches de recherche adaptées au contexte. Ce constat est d’autant plus vrai en recueillant l’expérience des personnes dont la vie est affectée par le cancer et le résultat des interventions de soutien oncologique. Pour cela, nous conseillons le recours au modèle affectif, comportemental et cognitif pour orienter les initiatives de recherche avec succès. Selon ce modèle, les émotions (affect), les actions (comportement) et les pensées (cognition) d’une personne fonctionnent parfois séparément, parfois ensemble pour l’aider à comprendre le monde qui l’entoure. Cet article indique comment ce modèle permet de saisir pleinement l’expérience de recherche d’une étudiante en lien avec le suivi de son travail et son engagement communautaire au centre de bien-être L’espoir, c’est la vie situé à Montréal, Québec, Canada. Cette démarche s’inscrit dans le cadre d’une étude sur la dynamique et l’incidence des programmes communautaires de deuil offerts par L’espoir, c’est la vie. Nous proposons le modèle affectif, comportemental et cognitif comme moyen prometteur pour orienter les expériences de recherche, en accordant une attention particulière aux aspects personnels, interactifs et sociaux.
