Déterminants de l’intention d’adopter un mode de vie sain chez les femmes atteintes de cancer dans la phase de l’après-traitement

Abstract


Après les traitements actifs pour un cancer, les défis paraissent nombreux pour les femmes, notamment dans l’adoption d’un mode de vie sain, et ce, malgré les nombreux bénéfices connus qui y sont associés. L’objectif de l’étude était d’identifier les déterminants de l’intention de pratiquer régulièrement des activités physiques et de consommer quotidiennement des légumes et des fruits chez les femmes atteintes de cancer du sein ou de cancer gynécologique de la région de Chaudière-Appalaches au Québec. Au total, 105 femmes d’âge moyen de 62 ans ayant terminé leurs traitements actifs dans la dernière année ont participé à une étude corrélationnelle en répondant à un questionnaire autoadministré en ligne et basé sur l’Approche de l’Action Raisonnée (AAR). Des analyses de régression multiple hiérarchique indiquent que 87 % (p < 0,0001) de la variance de l’intention de consommer des légumes et des fruits chaque jour au cours du prochain mois est expliquée par l’attitude de la personne et la perception de contrôle (ensemble 82 %), le comportement passé (2 %), le fait d’être célibataire, d’avoir un diplôme universitaire et le revenu annuel (2 %). L’attitude et la perception de contrôle sont aussi associées à l’intention de faire des activités physiques (R2 = 79 %; p < 0,0001) ainsi que le comportement passé (2 %). Aucune variable clinique n’influence significativement l’intention d’adopter ces deux comportements. Ces résultats orienteront l’intervention destinée aux femmes en post-traitement pour les encourager à maintenir un mode de vie sain.
